Create a map of a new island nation!
In our geography topic we have been using an atlas.
Your task sheet explains how to make a map of a unique and new country.
Century
No new nuggets this week, but log in to Century and keep working on all your times tables: X2, X3, X4, X5, X10
Century will provide you with suitable consolidation or extended tasks based on your performance so far!
The spelling homework for Year 3 comprises of a few words that follow the focus spelling pattern on the week, plus a few words from the Key Stage 1 high frequency word list/Key Stage 1 medium frequency word list/the National Curriculum words for Years 3 &4 (depending on the child's need.)
Please remember that Century is part of weekly homework. concentrate on the nuggets that I have set and any focus to improve tasks that are generated from those. Some of you are trying some challenges that we haven't learnt yet!
Making mistakes is a good thing!
If you find any difficulty or problems about using Century, please get in touch.
Information about Century and the tasks. Please Read.

Homework is set on a Thursday and due by Tuesday the following week. Please ensure that your child completes this every week.
The cover sheet has a section for you to complete to show us that you have seen your child's homework .
There may be To-Do tasks on Purple Mash, or 'nuggets' on Century. These will be explained in the cover sheet.
Reading
Please ensure you are reading with your child as often as possible. All children have a reading log and they should be filling it in regularly. When reading with your child; you can ask them to predict what might happen next, what their favourite part was, what they might change, what the story is about. This will really help their understanding.
Your child will have guided reading sessions in class and some pupils will continue to bring home phonics books for a time.
As pupils in Year 3 will be reading longer books, they may not need to change their books so frequently.
Spellings
Spelling tests will take place on a Friday morning. New words will be given out on Friday also. Please practise these.
PE : Our dance workshops will be held in the school hall on Mondays.
Outdoor PE is on Fridays.
As it is getting colder, your child may wish to wear joggers outdoors.
Generally speaking, if your child is well enough to be in school then we would expect them to participate in all PE.
Please let us know though, if there is a particular reason that your child can not participate in the PE lesson.
